Blood Donation Programme

This project is organized by sponsor Rotary club, Rotary Club Of Patan South, along with Rotaract Club of Lele and Interact Club of Rato Bangala. Since the national blood bank is short on the supply of blood, hospitals are facing a big problem. Lots of patients are waiting on a long queue to be treated due to this shortage. So to help solve this problem we decided to organize a blood donation programme.
Our sponsor club took care of the initial stages of the programme with Nepal Red Cross Society which involved creating pamphlets and organizing the camp site and the expenditure too. The news about the program was spread on national television and even on a radio talk show. Our work started from the second phase of the programme, where we awared the people about the programme and the importance and benefits of donating blood. On the first day, after school, we visited every bank, mall, department store, pharmacy or any type of shop we came across on both lanes from Pulchowk to Jawalakhel Chowk and distributed pamphlets and humbly requested the locals to donate blood. On the next day we went from Jawalakhel chowk to the end of Kumaripati. We went to more than a hundred shops which covered about 2 km of road.
The donation programme was held on the 18th of December. Luckily for us there was a concert and an education fair held near to the camp site so there was a big crowd. We had a total of 104 donors that day with many rejections. So we can term this programme a success.

Muffler Donation Project

This is a joint project done with the Interact Club of Pashupati in collaboration with Apanga Sewa Samaj(Society for the disabled) to mark the World Disabled Day. The society provided the differently-abled kids shelter and even provided education up to 12th grade. We were inspired by the work the organization had achieved in a few years. Thus we decided to do this project to help the organization.
Our main objective of this project was to distribute mufflers to all individuals, free of cost, that were protected by the society, since winter was closing in. We played with them, and even organized a small programme; where we sang, read out poems, etc. We even distributed fruits and chocolates. Moreover, we had a wonderful time with them as well as with the Interactors of IC Pashupati. This project really helped us to build fellowship between different interact members.
